The CEO of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation says he’s open to establishing a casino in this province, but current legislation does not allow it.
Newfoundland and Labrador is the only province in Canada without a casino.
Dallas McCready says he’s open to working with government if the province is agreeable.
“We work with government all the time on different policy decisions. Historically, Newfoundland and Labrador has chosen not to have a destination casino,” he says.
“If they were to choose that model, we’d be happy to partner with them and operate that, but ultimately that’s a decision for the governments to make.”
