MHAs were wearing their poppies in the House of Assembly yesterday, and if you thought that was a bit earlier than usual, you’d be right.

The Royal Canadian Legion has begun its annual Poppy Campaign, which from this point onwards will begin each October 24.

Starting this year, the Legion chose to set a fixed date for the annual campaign about a week earlier than usual to help with fund raising.

Funds raised through the Poppy Campaign go to support veterans and the Legion’s veterans programs.
