A long journey across the province warrants a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk.
That’s the first thing nine-year-old palliative care patient from Nova Scotia, Leeland Hill did when he arrived in St. John’s last night, thanks to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Leeland has brain cancer, and knows his time is short. His wish was to simply visit his great grandmother in St. John’s and after a long day of travelling from Port aux Basques he will finally get to meet her.
Leeland says his wish was to see his Great-Nanny Thorne, and to have all the toys he’s ever imagined.
Assistant Commissioner Ches Parsons says he was honored to bring Leeland from Goobies to St. John’s. He say Leeland had a great time.
Parson’s say Leeland enjoyed himself immensely . He even got to meet a member of the emergency response team who let him try on camouflage helmet.
Leeland, his family and his friends will be celebrating his arrival to Newfoundland and revealing his wish this Saturday.
