For women living in poverty, basic needs can be hard to meet.
That includes feminine hygiene products which are seldom talked about, but essential for women of a certain age.
The United Way and the Canadian Labour Congress are working together to help meet that need.
Last year the first “Tampon Tuesday” donation drive was held, collecting over 11,000 units of feminine hygiene products for the St. John’s Women’s Centre.
This year they’re expanding the effort province-wide with the help of RBC.
The public is encouraged to drop items off at Women’s Centres across the province or an RBC bank branch.
The donation drive runs from February 24th to March 10th.
