Construction of a 145-bed long-term care facility in Corner Brook is now completed.
Corner Brook Care Partnership, which constructed the facility, has now entered a 30-year service contract with Western Health.
In a news release, Premier Dwight Ball stated, “We worked with community partners to deliver this project on time and on budget, and I look forward to seeing our government’s other projects, like the west coast hospital, adult mental health and addictions hospital, and other long-term care homes, also delivered on time and on budget.”
The facility contains 120 long-term beds,15 palliative care beds and 10 rehabilitative care beds.
More than 60 full-time equivalent staff will be transferred from Western Memorial Regional Hospital to the new facility, the name for which will be chosen sometime this spring.
