One man was rushed to hospital following an early morning crash in the capital city that left debris scattered across a main thoroughfare.
First responders shut down Kenmount Road at the Kelsey Drive intersection shortly before 3:30.
It appears that a car traveling at high speeds collided with a traffic light pole on a concrete median. The pole was carried several meters down the road, and ended up underneath the vehicle, which came to a stop facing the opposite direction.
The RNC says a man was taken to hospital by paramedics. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police were called to the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash are under investigation.
The road re-opened hours after the crash following an extensive cleanup.
The matter remains under investigation.
