A new workforce study released just prior to International Women’s Day shows women in Canada still earn 27 per cent less than men.
ADP Canada released the results of its latest Workplace Insights Study on pay equity this week.
It shows that women reported an average salary of just over $51,000 while men reported an average salary of closer to $68,000.

Natalka Haras of ADP Canada says the study also shows that gap extends beyond salary.
To other areas of compensation including bonuses, profit sharing, and parental leave where men reported $7,600 compared to $3,200 for women.
Perceptions on pay equity are also different among men and women. Men are more likely to believe—at 53 per cent—that Canada will achieve pay equality during their careers, compared to 40 per cent of women.

The online survey was completed between January 31 and February 3, 2020. The margin of error is +/- 3.6%, 19 times out of 20.
