The Newfoundland Growlers punched their ticket to the 2020 Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 5-2 win over the Thunder last night at Mile One.
The Thunder got ahead in the first but the Growlers fought back and even managed to hit the open net in the last few minutes.
James Melindy made his return to the lineup after an eight-game suspension.
The Growlers wrap up their three game homestand tonight against the Thunder while also teaming up with a local company.
Noia will be showcasing the province’s offshore during the game and displaying a logo on the ice near home bench that says “I heart Oil and Gas.”
