A 48-year-old man is dead and a 47-year-old woman seriously injured following a snowmobile accident near Appleton on the weekend.
RCMP received a call around 10:30 Saturday night that a snowmobile had left a groomed trail and crashed into the surrounding woods.
Police say the man died at the scene and the woman remains in critical condition in hospital.
Speed is believed to have been a factor and officials are investigating whether or not alcohol was involved.
