Pitts Memorial Drive has been reopened to traffic in both directions after two dramatic accidents this morning.
At least two women were taken to hospital in two separate incidents.
A 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the east bound lane of Pitts Memorial this morning near the Blackhead overpass.
As emergency crews were attending that scene and with reporters on hand, a second crash occurred in the westbound lane.
An SUV struck a Mustang parked on the road, flipped into the air, and struck two other vehicles.
A woman in the SUV was also taken to hospital.
There’s no immediate word on the condition of either woman, and the cause of both accidents is under investigation. nbsp;

Pitts Memorial Drive is expected to be closed for the next several hours following two dramatic accidents this morning.
Emergency crews responded to the scene of a vehicle-pedestrian accident, eastbound on Pitts Memorial, just passed the Kilbride exit.
A woman was reportedly lying in the roadway. A transport truck was also pulled off to the side of the busy highway.
While crews were on scene, a blue SUV crashed into a burgundy mustang in the westbound lane of the divided highway. The car appeared to have been stopped by a parked RNC cruiser when the SUV approached.
The SUV was launched into the air, spinning, striking a police cruiser and a passenger car on the way down. It came to a stop on its side.
First responders rushed to the female driver, who had to be removed from the vehicle and taken away on a stretcher.
The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time. RNC are asking the public to stay away from the area.
