The MHA for Torngat Mountains is offering her deepest condolences to the people of Rigolet and the entire north coast of Labrador in the wake of the tragic death of a 29-year-old woman in the community.
The woman was on a snowmobile that went through the sea ice Sunday evening.
Her body was recovered by local residents.
Her passing comes just months after the community was struck by a boating accident that claimed the lives of a man and a woman.
Lela Evans took to Facebook to send a message to the people of the district to offer strength, referencing “strong Labrador women” and all Labradorians.
She acknowledged the difficulty presented by COVID-19 in the grieving process, but assured the family of the young woman, that they are not alone.
