Residents on the coast of Labrador are being asked to put lights up in their windows this evening to remember a young woman who lost her life in a snowmobiling accident Sunday evening.
Anita Rich, 29, died when the machine she was on went through the sea ice near Rigolet.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions family and friends are unable to gather to mourn her loss, which has prompted Tourism Nunatsiavut to offer another way for people to come together in grief.
Rich was the Tourism Development Officer with Tourism Nunatsiavut.
They’re also asking area residents to post their memories of Anita—remembered by many as a kind and loving person—to Facebook.
