A local business leader is part of a group of volunteers doing its part to help address some of the unique challenges presented by COVID-19.
Former provincial finance minister and business owner, Cathy Bennett is with Task Force NL, a group of businesspeople and community leaders who are using their collective skills and expertise to help health care workers.
Bennett says their volunteer members have a varied skill set. Their 75 members have expertise in areas like procurement, manufacturing, engineering and health and safety.
The group is working to help find and obtain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) globally that meets Canadian standards—but Bennett says it doesn’t end there.
They are also looking at building local manufacturing capacity to make PPE by helping local companies retool their manufacturing operations.
