A local grocery distributor says it is taking the business of maintaining a safe food supply to the community very seriously.

Erin Higdon is with Atlantic Grocery Distributors in Bay Roberts, which delivers to all but a handful of communities across the island through 190 weekly runs.

Higdon says they’ve enacted safety protocols to ensure the handling of food items meets public health standards.

That includes handwashing and sanitizing, social distancing and wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment for food handling.
