Minister John Haggie says it will take some time to resume all surgeries and procedures.
“It will not be business as normal…this week,” says Haggie, “Or indeed when we move into Alert Level 3.”
Haggie says the health care system has to be ready for the second wave of the virus and must be able to pivot quickly.
Meanwhile, the province has seen nearly 100,000 virtual physician consults since public health measures were imposed.
There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province today the fourth day in a row since two new cases were reported on Thursday.
