The first long holiday weekend of summer will be a quiet affair for many this year thanks to COVID-19.
Public health measures restrict people from gathering with those outside your bubble except for formal occasions like wedding and funerals.
Even those events are limited to ten people with social distancing, no food served, and tissues and hand sanitizer available.
While activities will be curtailed at least two local politicians still have plans.
Premier Dwight Ball says he’ll be heading home to Deer Lake for the first time since March.
Health Minister John Haggie meanwhile, might take to the quad.
He’s got the deck tidied up, the swing is out and the barbeque is ready. If he gets an opportunity he’s going to “take the bubble out on the side-by-side.”
