Memorial University has been monitoring expenses very closely in the current pandemic situation.
The university purchased the old Battery Hotel in 2013 in the hopes of turning the Signal Hill campus into a revenue generator by hosting conferences and other events.
President Vianne Timmons says the pandemic has had an impact on operations there.
Everything is on hold for now, but she sees the pandemic as short-term and believes the Signal Hill campus still holds great revenue potential.
