Federal medical experts are now recommending that Canadians wear non-medical masks when out in public, and in a situation where they are unable to guarantee physical distancing.
That’s a slight change from their previous position that only suggested Canadians “consider” wearing masks.
Dr. Theresa Tam says thinking of it as protecting each other from being exposed to the virus is a key concept for Canadians.
She did not make it an order, as situations vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. She says provinces and territories need the ability to judge each situation on their own.
