The weather is getting nicer and while many people are itching to get outside, first responders are reminding us not to let safety go by the wayside.
Shortly before 4:00 yesterday afternoon, the Pouch Cove Fire Department was called for a rescue on Duck Pond in Bauline.
Nearby residents aided in the rescue, and no injuries have been reported.
The fire department is reminding people to take preventative measures while out on the water, regardless of experience or swimming capability.
They say a life jacket, or similar device should be worn at any time falling in water is a possibility.
