An announcement on expanding services for fertility clinics in the province is expected within the next week or so, says the province’s minister of health.
Fertility clinics in Newfoundland and Labrador have been providing a limited range of services throughout the pandemic but complaints have surfaced online about not having enough access throughout COVID-19.
Haggie says those choices go back to a clinical decision as to what is time sensitive from a treatment point of view.
Haggie says while these types of clinics are private, the one in this province is supported by the Eastern Health Regional Authority and there are discussions about expanding.
