The home building and renovation industry says a $30-million rebate program will help them get back to work.
Someone having a new home built up to a cost of $350,000 can qualify for a $10,000 rebate, while someone hiring for a home renovation valued at up to $40,000 will also qualify for a $10,000 rebate.
Applications will be available on Monday.

Spokesman Curtis Mercer says housing starts have been dropping over the past few years, and the Homebuilders Association doesn’t see the numbers getting back to 2017 levels for another three to five years.
Despite the downturn, the cost of labour and materials has generally remained steady. Mercer says while some prices have fluctuated, there are similar costs for overall projects.
