Atlantic Lottery has launched a new contest that gives people the chance to secure a $5,000 donation for a local charity they care about.

President and CEO Chris Keevill says without summer festivals and events this year, they are really thinking differently about how they can give back to communities in Atlantic Canada.

The Community Proud contest will be happening in three waves over the summer with three chances to nominate charities and 12 donations of $5,000.

In addition to the donation, winning packages will include a Festival Getaway Package which comes with four VIP tickets and $5,000 spending money to a future ALC sponsored event.
