The search for a missing man involved in a jet ski incident in Gander Bay Saturday afternoon has ended.
The Canadian Coast Guard says it believes there will no longer be any reasonable chance of survival and the search concluded at dusk.
Officials were involved in an extensive search yesterday for the missing man after two men ended up in the water in Gander Bay.
Multiple witnesses saw the man sink beneath the water and not resurface. An extensive search confirmed the man was not on the surface of the water.
The next of kin have been notified and the incident has been turned over to the RCMP as a missing person case.
The Coast Guard says the CCGS Conception Bay lifeboat will remain on scene Sunday to assist RCMP with their efforts.
The Coast Guard thanks all volunteers who joined the search effort.
