The provincial government has approved a proposal by libraries for a curbside drop-off and pickup service.
Libraries have been closed for the past few months because of the pandemic but come Tuesday, they begin chapter one of the reopening phase.
Leigha Locke, a librarian helping oversee the partial resumption of services, says it is a contactless service. Patrons will be able to drop their item into the slot and once materials have been quarantined for about 72 hours, they will be recirculated.
Users can begin placing “hold” on items they would like to use or read through the online catalogue and by emailing or calling the library.
Patrons will be contacted when their item is ready.
