The Royal St. John’s Regatta is moving online this year.

People from all across the country can participate in the Royal Regatta Run (or Walk) on August 1.

Jennifer Browne, Director of Rowing, says they chose to do this type of online event because it is inclusive and people can do it at their own pace.

Browne says “Beyond the Pond” is a virtual run that consists of a one, five, or 10 kilometre race. She says people can move whenever and wherever they want until August 5.

She says it is set up like this so that people can share in the Regatta spirit.

Results will be monitored through an application called “Trackie.”

To register, people can go to the Facebook event or the Regatta’s website.
