There was a show of solidarity for striking Dominion workers in St. John’s today over the lunch hour.
Dozens of representatives from other unions turned out at the Blackmarsh Road location to support their labouring brothers and sisters.
They included members of NAPE, the Teamsters union, the FFAW, the nurses’ union and the Fight for 15 And Fairness group. They chanted and waved flags and responded to the constant honking of horns in support.

Mark Nichols of the 15 And Fairness group says their push for a $15 minimum wage is not too much to ask, calling for immediate action on the issue.
Meanwhile, the upbeat mood on the picket line belies the tension and seriousness of the issue; that being the ability for Dominion workers to make a living that can keep a roof over their heads and feed their families.
