A former Liberal cabinet minister who was the subject of a police investigation plans to run in the next election but isn’t saying for which party just yet.
Sherry Gambin-Walsh, the former minister of Service NL, was removed from cabinet in April after it was revealed that a criminal probe had been launched into allegations that she leaked confidential cabinet information.
Gambin-Walsh says the investigation has been completed and results were forwarded to the special prosecutions division in Nova Scotia for review in late June. She said she is expecting word on the outcome of that review next month.
In the meantime, Gambin-Walsh says she does plan to run in the next election, but couldn’t say if that would be for the Liberals again or not.
