A judge has granted Loblaws’ request for an injunction at 11 Dominion stores in the province.
But it doesn’t change much in the eyes of striking Unifor workers.
Local union president Carolyn Wrice says it seems the injunction was sought in an effort to ensure food could be removed and distributed to food banks and other organizations such as Bridges to Hope.
But Wrice says the union would never have stopped that from happening.
She says strikers are willing to help load trucks so the food does not go to waste.
The injunction also prohibits strikers from standing stationary and blocking entrances to the stores. Instead, they are permitted to walk back and forth and briefly inform people coming and going, but not impede movement across the picket lines.
