The Avalon and Burin peninsulas saw the brunt of heavy rainfall from the remnant of Hurricane Laura which passed over the island yesterday.
Blaire Sparkes of Environment Canada says many areas of the Avalon recorded 30 to 40 mm with pockets of as high as 50 mm noted.
The Burin Peninsula saw the highest amounts with St. Lawrence recording up to 60 mm.
The forecast for the coming week is looking good with sun and cloud expected for most parts of Eastern Newfoundland.
