A car was destroyed after catching fire at a gas station in the east end of St. John’s Saturday night.
Shortly before 10 p.m., The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the fire at Ultramar on Hebron Way.
When the fire department arrived on the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to put out the blaze.
Once the fire was almost out, the RNC used their vehicle’s push bar to move the car further away from the pumps.
The car was destroyed, but there were no reported injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
This is one of the reasons why we equip our vehicles with push bars. The vehicle fire in east end of St. John’s was almost out but we pushed the vehicle further away from the pumps for everyone’s safety. #nltraffic pic.twitter.com/J0fPKPIStN
