High winds and storm surges overnight Friday and into Saturday caused a number of power outages and road closures on the Avalon Peninsula.
Bay Roberts RCMP alerted the public of a road closure in Spaniard’s Bay.
Route 70 in the community was impassable due to debris on the road, but it has since reopened to traffic.
In Holyrood, North Side Road was also covered in rocks and other debris. The town had been asking residents not to drive or walk through the area and to use an alternate route.
The Main Road in Chapel’s Cove was also reportedly blocked throughout Saturday afternoon.
And late Saturday, the town of Heart’s Delight-Islington issued a boil-water advisory due to a power outage in the area.
The order remains in effect until further notice.
