Christmas has come early for one St. John’s family, who have been announced as the recipients of this year’s Collision Clinic Enriching Lives Car Giveaway.
The annual event, which is in its 18th year, gives a fully-repaired vehicle to a deserving family.
This year’s recipients are Faith Ann Vokey and her 19-month-old son, Ashton, who got the keys to a 2018 Kia Rio.

Vokey works evenings at the Delta Hotel and currently has to taxi back and forth to work, noting that she often has to wait for an hour for a taxi with a car seat, which has meant some late nights getting her son home.
As well, she says she plans on starting school next year to better their lives, and the new vehicle will help give them new opportunities to excel.
Vokey says she bawled her eyes out when she first got to the building. She says she was overwhelmed with emotion upon seeing the vehicle.
