The Nunatsiavut Government says a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 has been identified within the Labrador Inuit Settlement Area. The individual is currently isolating and is awaiting confirmatory testing.
The Government is also advising that some communities lack adequate amounts of tests for all passengers who travelled on the Air Borealis flights on December 21st and 22nd, that had previously been flagged as exposure sites.
Testing in some communities has been delayed due to poor weather conditions, as supplies are unable to be flown in from Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Health officials from the Nunatsiavut Government and Labrador-Grenfell Health continue to monitor the situation closely.
Yesterday there were 357 cases of COVID-19 reported in the province, the first numbers provided since Christmas Eve.
That includes 89 cases on Saturday, 135 cases on Sunday, and 133 cases on Monday. 262 cases are in the Eastern Health region, 29 are in Central Health, 62 in the Western Health region, and four in Labrador-Grenfell Health.
One person in the Western Health region is currently in hospital due to the virus.
The province says there have been more than 7,200 tests administered since Friday.
The latest numbers are scheduled to be released on social media at 2 p.m. today.
