The Newfoundland Growlers bounced back in their playoff series against the Manchester Monarchs at Mile One last night.
The Monarchs scored first, but Josh Kestner of the Growlers was quick to respond. It was 1-1 after the first period. The Growlers went ahead in the third on a goal by Brady Ferguson, but the Monarchs answered that one 50 seconds later. A late period goal from Zach O’Brien followed up by an empty netter from Derian Plouffe sealed the deal for the Growlers, with a final score of 4-2.
The playoff series is now tied at one apiece. Both teams are in Manchester Tuesday night for game three. Puck drop is at 8:30 p.m.
