There has been a big drop in the province’s unemployment rate.
The rate in August was 13.1 per cent, by far and away the highest in the country. It is still the highest of any province, but it dropped to 11.5 per cent in September.
Nationally, the jobless rate stood at 5.5 per cent in September, which is the lowest in nearly four decades.
