Corner Brook residents will be allowed to operate all-terrain vehicles on select roadways in the city beginning next month.
From June 1 to October 31, ATVs can be used on Riverside Drive, Main Street, Herald Avenue, Broadway, Pier Road, Petries Street, Hilliard’s Road and paved road between Pier Road and Griffen Drive.
The ATVs must stay on the designated route, and restrict travel between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
ATVs must also be mindful of vehicle traffic, pedestrians and cyclists.
Allowing ATV use on some roadways has proven to be a successful measure in the past, with mayor Jim Parsons saying the city was looking at ways to further capitalize on ATV tourism.
More information and an interactive map can be found on the city’s website.
