Air Canada has announced some big cuts in their routes and Newfoundland and Labrador is among those taking a big hit.
The airline is indefinitely suspending service on 30 domestic regional routes and closing eight stations at regional airports in Canada. The Wabush station is one of the eight to close.
The route cuts affect every airport in the province where Air Canada flies.

Reg Wright, chair of the Gander Airport Authority, says it’s not surprising but that doesn’t lessen the impact.
Wright says all airports are supportive of the Atlantic Bubble but wish it had come about 20 days earlier. He adds that it’s clear that airlines are not going to salvage all of their flying, so they’re now cutting costs.
Air Canada says affected customers will be contacted by Air Canada and offered options, including alternate routings where available.
