Today marks the 25th anniversary of the worst act of genocide in Europe since the Holocaust.
In July 1995, more than 8,000 civilian Muslim Bosniaks were murdered in the spa town of Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was the most horrific of the many atrocities carried out during the Bosnian War, which followed the break up of the former Soviet republic of Yugoslavia.
Men and boys were gathered and massacred by Bosnian Serbs and buried in a mass grave. Women and girls suffered rape and other forms of torture.
The provincial government is joining with jurisdictions around the world in acknowledging and commemorating the massacre.
Minister Christopher Mitchelmore says everyone has a responsibility to condemn genocide.
