The East Coast Music Awards announced this year’s winners during the virtual 2020 awards ceremony which was originally scheduled to be held in late April at Mile One.
Tim Baker came out big winning Solo Recording of the Year with his first solo album, Forever Overhead. As well as Folk Recording of the Year and Video of the Year for his song, All Hands.

Eastern Owl took home Indigenous Artist of the Year, Shanneyganock received the Dr. Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award, Florian Hoefner won both Jazz and Instrumental Recording of the Year and Jason Benoit won Fans’ Choice Video of the Year for his song, Slow Hand.

Ron Hynes was officially inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame during the ceremony with a special tribute by members of his backing band.
The Wonderful Grand Band were named the Newfoundland and Labrador recipients of the 2020 Stompin’ Tom Awards.
