The St. John’s area has set a record most would rather not be associated with. YYT recorded a high temperature of below 10 degrees for four days in July, the most such days during July ever.
Environment Canada meteorologist Rodney Barney says the high was 9.4 on July 3rd, 9.9 on the 4th, 9.5 on the 15th and 9.2 on the 16th.
The previous highest number of days below 10 degrees was three in 1974 and again in 2015.
Record-keeping began in 1942.
