A Pouch Cove woman has been arrested on a slew of charges following a dramatic sequence of events on the Trans Canada earlier this week.
It all started around 2:30 Monday afternoon when Whitbourne RCMP received a call from a cab driver who was having some trouble with an unruly passenger.
When the driver pulled over to the side of the highway to make the call, the woman drove off in the cab.
While police were on the way, they received numerous calls about a taxi driving dangerously on the Trans-Canada Highway. Concerned citizens used their vehicles to box in the cab, which, while trying to escape, backed up, causing damage to one of the vehicles.
23-year-old Holly Canning is facing charges of impaired driving, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, uttering threats, dangerous driving, and breaches of court orders.
Police thank those who helped with their investigation.
