The City of St. John’s is advising residents of a temporary alteration to a popular walking trail in the centre city due to filming for Hudson & Rex.

The television series is taking to a path along Mundy Pond today for filming. As such, the south side of the pond’s walking trail is closed to the public, along with the parking lot off Pierce Avenue.

The closure is expected to be in effect until 9 p.m. During that time, the city is advising residents to use an alternate path through the area.

Precautions Taken After Crew Member Tests Positive for COVID-19

Meanwhile, Pope Productions says it has taken the situation “incredibly seriously” after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in the province.

While the person was asymptomatic during travel, Pope Productions has screening protocol in place that includes the testing of staff upon arrival in NL.

Pope Productions says the incident is contained, and the woman was not in contact with anyone in the St. John’s community. The provincial government is asking anyone on board Air Canada flight AC690 from Toronto to St. John’s on August 6 to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
