A man from Clarke’s Beach has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges and is prohibited from owning animals for a period of five years.
Carl Caravan was also ordered to pay restitution of nearly $7,000 to the SPCA. He will not serve any time.
The conviction stems from an investigation by Bay Roberts RCMP that started in the spring of 2019 and saw five dogs seized from Caravan’s home.
The animals were placed in foster care by the SPCA and were eventually adopted out.
