The NDP is calling on the federal Liberals to ease the restrictions preventing “committed couples and families” from reuniting.
NDP Public Safety Critic Jack Harris claims that the rules need to be more flexible to allow the couples that do not meet the government’s definitions of married or common-law to be together.
Harris says he has called on Bill Blair to amend the rules but has not heard back.
He says the restrictions have been in place for four months and it is time for the issue to be addressed.
