Striking Dominion store employees are offering to help donate perishable items to local food banks.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias says they are aware that there are perishables in local stores and people are in need.
Dias says the union has reached out to Loblaw Companies to inform them that frontline workers are willing to help get perishables out of the stores and into the hands of not-for-profit organizations for distribution.
More than 1400 workers at eleven Dominion locations across the province began strike action Saturday night after rejecting the company’s offer.
