Sherry Gambin-Walsh breached confidentiality by sharing information about RNC promotions with a senior officer. There were no charges as neither party benefitted from the breach.

Gambin-Walsh told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly this morning that she did so out of compassion for the officer in question, who was not one of those receiving a promotion. Gambin-Walsh says at no time did she attempt to influence the process.

The former cabinet minister acknowledges that she made a mistake, but plans to run again for the Liberals in the next election.

She says other officers were coming up to him and offering support that he was not on the list.
