Almost everybody has been touched, in one way or another, by suicide. Every year thousands of individuals die by suicide, leaving behind their friends and family members to navigate the tragedy of loss.
September is Suicide Awareness Month—a time to share resources and stories in an effort to shed light on this highly stigmatized topic.
Community Suicide Prevention Coordinator with Eastern Health, Denika Ward says a lot of people have been feeling pressure during the pandemic and it is important to know that there are resources available.
She says within the province, people are fortunate that there are many resources present. She says knowing the resources and starting the conversation are the important key points.
A number of local resources can be found on the Bridge the gApp website.
