Power has been restored across the capital city after issues at a local substation caused widespread outages.

Thousands of customers temporarily lost power just before 1:30 this afternoon. Less than an hour later, Newfoundland Power crews restored electricity to those without.

NF Power says an equipment problem at the Kings Bridge Road substation resulted in the temporary loss of electricity.
