The province is working to fix up a number of roads that have either been damaged or washed out completely by heavy rainfall.
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Derrick Bragg, says over 120 mm of rain fell in the North Harbour and Placentia areas last night.
He confirms that the community of North Harbour is cut off by the washout and crews are working diligently to restore access.

He says some new culverts are on the way to affected areas, and they have a local contractor on board to help install them.
However, there is a bit of a waiting game the government must play before they can be installed.
He explains that a culvert cannot be installed with a “raging river” flowing through, so they have to wait for the water to subside a bit before proceeding.
Bragg continues that while people may be curious and want to go look at the damage, it is important to obey the crews on site as the areas could be dangerous. He encourages people to report any damage they may see.
