A St. John’s couple is Set for Life after winning the game’s top prize thanks to a ticket they picked up on a recent staycation. The winning ticket was purchased at the North Atlantic in Goobies.

Doreen and Steve Snow darted into the store and scratched the ticket.

Steve, teasing his wife, told her the prize was $1,000 and had her sign for it. That’s when she realized they’d won the top prize.

They opted for the lump-sum payment of $675,000 instead of $1,000 a week for 25 years.

Steve retired in January and Doreen has decided to retire early. They will help to pay off their law student daughter’s student debt and will buy a vehicle for her among other things.
